Scope of work, system by system.
Every product we install follows a documented sequence — prep, primer, build, topcoat, cure. No skipped steps, no cut corners. Here is exactly what happens on your slab from day one to handover, broken down by system.
Before any system goes down
These five steps happen on every job, regardless of which system we install. They are the difference between a coating that lasts 15 years and one that fails in 18 months.
- Site walk & moisture test — calcium chloride or RH probes per ASTM F1869/F2170. We do not coat over wet slabs.
- Surface profile — diamond grinding to CSP 2–4 (most systems). Shot blasting on heavy commercial.
- Crack & joint repair — static cracks chase-cut and filled with polyurea; saw cuts honored or detailed per spec.
- Containment & masking — walls, fixtures, drains, and adjacent finishes protected before any product opens.
- Climate check — slab temp, ambient temp, dew point logged hourly during install.
Epoxy Floor Systems
Two- or three-coat 100% solids epoxy build, optional decorative flake or quartz broadcast, finished with polyaspartic UV topcoat where exposure demands it.
- Day 1 AM — diamond grind to CSP 2–3, vacuum, repair static cracks.
- Day 1 PM — apply pigmented epoxy primer/basecoat at 8–12 mil.
- Day 2 AM — broadcast flake or quartz to refusal into wet base; let cure 8–12 hrs.
- Day 2 PM — scrape excess, vacuum, apply intermediate epoxy build coat.
- Day 3 AM — polyaspartic or urethane topcoat at 4–6 mil with optional anti-slip aggregate.
- Day 3 PM — walk-on after 8 hrs · light vehicle 24 hrs · full service 72 hrs.
Polyaspartic Coatings
One-day install. Polyaspartic basecoat, full flake broadcast, polyaspartic topcoat — back in service the next morning.
- 7:00 AM — diamond grind, vacuum, tape off perimeter.
- 9:30 AM — apply pigmented polyaspartic basecoat at 6–8 mil.
- 10:00 AM — broadcast decorative flake to full refusal into wet base.
- 12:30 PM — scrape, vacuum, knock down high spots with soft pad.
- 2:00 PM — apply clear polyaspartic topcoat at 4–6 mil.
- 5:00 PM — walk-on. Vehicle traffic next morning. Full cure 24 hrs.
Metallic Epoxy
Custom-blended metallic pigments hand-troweled and back-rolled to create unique three-dimensional movement. Every floor is one-of-a-kind.
- Day 1 — diamond grind to CSP 3, full vacuum, tape and mask.
- Day 1 PM — apply pigmented epoxy primer in base color (black, white, or gray).
- Day 2 AM — mix metallic pigment into clear epoxy; pour, spread, and manipulate with rollers, leaf blowers, or solvent drops to create veining.
- Day 2 PM — let cure undisturbed 12 hrs (no foot traffic, no airflow disruption).
- Day 3 AM — light buff if needed, apply clear polyaspartic topcoat at 4–6 mil.
- Day 3 PM — optional second clear coat for extra depth.
- Day 4 AM — walk-on. Furniture next day. Full cure 5–7 days.
Solid Color Epoxy
The simplest decorative system: one base color, no flake, no metallic. Common in warehouses, mechanical rooms, and back-of-house commercial spaces where a clean uniform finish matters more than visual drama.
- Day 1 AM — diamond grind to CSP 2, vacuum, repair cracks and joints.
- Day 1 PM — apply pigmented epoxy basecoat at 10–12 mil.
- Day 2 AM — light scuff sand, vacuum, apply pigmented epoxy topcoat at 8–10 mil.
- Day 2 PM — optional anti-slip aggregate broadcast into wet topcoat for wet areas.
- Day 3 AM — walk-on. Forklift / vehicle traffic at 48–72 hrs.
Urethane Cement
Heavy-duty hybrid system for commercial kitchens, food & beverage plants, dairies, breweries — anywhere thermal shock, steam cleaning, and chemical exposure are daily realities.
- Day 1 AM — shot blast to CSP 4–5 (heavier profile required for cement bond).
- Day 1 PM — install integral cove base where required (4″ or 6″ up walls).
- Day 2 AM — trowel-apply urethane cement slurry at 1/4″ (250 mil) thickness.
- Day 2 PM — broadcast quartz aggregate to refusal for slip resistance.
- Day 3 AM — scrape excess, vacuum, apply pigmented urethane topcoat.
- Day 3 PM — apply chemical-resistant urethane sealcoat.
- Day 4 AM — walk-on. Wet cleaning at 24 hrs. Full chemical cure 7 days.
Polished Concrete
The slab itself is the finish. Progressive diamond grinding from coarse (40-grit) to fine (1500–3000 grit) plus densifier and stain-resistant sealer. No coating to peel, ever.
- Day 1 — initial cut: 40-grit metal-bond diamonds expose desired aggregate level (cream, salt-and-pepper, or full aggregate).
- Day 1 PM — step up through 80 and 150 grit metal bonds.
- Day 2 AM — apply lithium silicate densifier; let dwell & absorb.
- Day 2 PM — resin-bond polish: 100, 200, 400 grit.
- Day 3 AM — resin-bond polish: 800, 1500 grit (3000 grit optional for ultra-gloss).
- Day 3 PM — apply stain-guard sealer (penetrating, no surface film).
- Day 4 AM — burnish to final sheen. Walk-on immediately.
Concrete Overlay
A thin polymer-modified cement layer poured over existing concrete. Stamped, broomed, or troweled to mimic flagstone, slate, brick, or smooth modern finishes — without tearing out the slab underneath.
- Day 1 AM — pressure wash, etch, or grind existing slab to open the surface.
- Day 1 PM — repair spalls, fill divots, apply bonding primer.
- Day 2 AM — place forms / control joints; mix and pour polymer-cement overlay 1/4″–3/8″ thick.
- Day 2 PM — stamp pattern (flagstone, ashlar slate, wood plank, custom) while overlay is plastic.
- Day 3 AM — apply integral or topical color hardener; broom or texture as designed.
- Day 3 PM — let cure undisturbed 24 hrs.
- Day 4 — apply UV-stable acrylic or urethane sealer (2 coats).
- Day 5 — walk-on. Vehicle traffic at 7 days.
Repair & Sealing
For slabs that don't need a new coating — just a tune-up. Crack repair, joint filling, surface densification, and penetrating sealer to extend the life of an existing concrete or coated floor.
- Day 1 AM — assess: identify cracks (static vs active), failed joints, surface dusting, stains.
- Day 1 PM — chase-cut static cracks; vacuum debris.
- Day 1 late — fill cracks with semi-rigid polyurea; trim flush.
- Day 2 AM — reseal control joints with self-leveling polyurea.
- Day 2 PM — apply lithium silicate densifier (if surface is dusting).
- Day 2 late — apply penetrating siloxane or stain-guard sealer.
- Day 3 AM — walk-on immediately. Vehicle 24 hrs.
